WHY DENVER
Denver is the experienced change leader we need.
She has advocated for and secured more accessible public transportation in Fairfax County, fought discrimination cases as a Human Rights Commissioner, and passed legislation in Virginia that tackled human trafficking and expanded rights and access for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
She has been a leader in advancing legislation across the nation and is currently fighting against attempts to weaken health care advancement and access in our country.
Denver is a proud member of the Repro Rising Virginia Board, where she advocates for the protection and expansion of reproductive rights in Virginia. She has strong union roots and will stand hand in hand with our workforce as they continue to fight for equal pay, fair treatment, and the right to unionize.
As President, she has led the Virginia Young Democrats through statewide victories. She has worked alongside former Lieutenant Governor candidate Hala Ayala to expand representation in the Commonwealth and has proudly served as Chief of Staff to Delegate Karrie Delaney.
On The Issues
Making Virginia Affordable
Virginia is filled with talent that we are losing due to a lack of affordability. We must use every tool in our toolbox to keep Virginia financially accessible for all. Our Commonwealth must be a place where people can afford to live, work, and retire with stability.
Good Jobs & a Strong Economy
We must put forth policies that help grow good-paying jobs in Virginia and keep our Commonwealth the best state in the nation for business. In the wake of federal instability, we must ensure that the Commonwealth has workforce development programs and support systems that keep and retrain talent in Virginia.
Workers’ Rights
Virginia must use every tool possible to fight wage theft and unfair workplace practices. We must allow all Virginians to unionize and claim a seat at the table.
Democracy:
The right to vote is imperative. We must enshrine this right in the Constitution and ensure that everyone can freely and fully access it.
Health Care & Reproductive Freedom
Virginia must fill the gaps created by our federal government and ensure that everyone has access to comprehensive, high-quality, and affordable health care in the Commonwealth.
Addtionally, we must also enshrine access to reproductive choices in our Constitution and ensure that every person has the right to decide when and how to start a family.
Finally, must be further investments in mental and behavioral health. Ensuring access to these tools will rewrite how we approach community health.
Transportation & Infrastructure
Accessible and comprehensive transportation is a necessity, not a luxury. We must ensure that Virginia properly invests in the Metro system and other alternatives, as well as safe and well-maintained roadways.
Education:
Virginia schools must be world-class, and our students must have access to all the tools for success. We must properly invest in the foundation of our youth, from pre-K to adulthood, by ensuring the education they receive in Virginia sets them up for long-term success.
