Denver is a proud daughter of Virginia.

Born and raised in the Commonwealth, she has witnessed both the great potential and the deep disparities that exist across our communities.

​

Raised by a single mother who struggled with addiction in the Hampton Roads area, Denver experienced firsthand the importance of government programs that help families stay afloat—programs that ensure there’s food on the table, children are nourished, and parents have a path forward. These early experiences instilled in her a lifelong commitment to building comprehensive community health systems and strong social supports that empower families rather than let them fall through the cracks.

Denver began her public service career with the City of Richmond, where she led efforts to draft and implement the city’s first water bill assistance program for community members in need. She later worked alongside the late Supervisor Catherine Hudgins in Fairfax County, helping to advance and expand public transportation access for all residents.

​

One of Denver’s proudest accomplishments was her tenure as Chief of Staff for House Delegate Karrie Delaney, during which she helped pass landmark legislation to combat human trafficking in Northern Virginia and to ensure survivors of violence receive proper justice and care in hospitals.

​

Since working directly with the General Assembly, Denver has advanced anti-hate legislation and resolutions across the nation, influenced policy to expand workforce opportunities for young people. She is currently fighting against harmful health care cuts at the federal level and advancing legislation to strengthen brain injury programs, services, and research.

 

From the local to the federal level, she has shown time and again that she knows what it takes to pass meaningful, community-driven legislation.

Denver is an advocate, an organizer, and a friend to those in need. She brings her experience as a listener, a doer, and a policy expert to ensure that Virginia remains the best place to live, work, and thrive for everyone.
